- The Google Pixel 10 series is rumored to launch with a new photography feature called Camera Coach
- It’ll supposedly use AI to analyse images fed through the camera and offer contextual suggestions
- It could come to all Pixel 10 models
The long-rumored Google Pixel 10, Google Pixel 10 Pro, Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold are all expected to be fully shown at this year’s Made by Google event, which is set for August 20. The Google Pixel 10 series is almost here.
As Google’s hardware showcase draws nearer, speculations have not slowed down—quite the contrary. We’ve been hearing a lot about the new software tools and features that might be included in Google’s next-generation flagship phones, in addition to getting a decent peek at the forthcoming phones through unintentionally shared product photographs.
According to a recent rumor, the Google Pixel 10 series may come with a brand-new photography function called Camera Coach that use artificial intelligence to assist users in taking better pictures.
The Android Headlines article claims that the new Camera Coach feature would analyze the image that is transmitted by the cameras and provide contextual recommendations, including shifting the camera’s angle or searching for better lighting.
Although no more sources are mentioned in the Android Headlines post, the website has a good reputation for rumors and tip-offs.
Since the Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are already on our list of the top phones with cameras, it would seem obvious to include features that help users make the most of their phone’s potent camera system.
As a skeptic of generative AI, I also like that Camera Coach seems to be more of an assisting tool, meant to teach and prepare users to eventually become more confident in their own photography.
For people who are new to cellphone photography or who only sometimes take a picture, I can see this being really beneficial.
I’ll save my opinions, though, until I see the finished product. Depending on how Camera Coach responds to your selections and whether there’s a method to scale its recommendations up or down, this tool might be quite helpful or a little frustrating.
Software capabilities like Camera Coach may be crucial in determining whether an upgrade is warranted, as the Android Headlines story also indicates that the Google Pixel 10 series won’t receive any significant camera sensor advancements.
