The Studio season 2

Before season 1 of the self-described “workplace comedy” had even concluded, The Studio season 2 was formally renewed on Apple TV+ in May. It should come as no surprise that The Studio received a perfect score of ninety-three percent on Rotten Tomatoes before the program was even published.

And because of its entertaining, humorous look at the film industry and its star-studded cast, it easily got it onto our list of the top Apple TV+ shows. We are therefore more than prepared to buckle up for more as Matt Remick and the Continental Studios crew prepare to return for another series. Additionally, I’m really optimistic that the list of cameos and guest stars will be just as amazing as it was in season 1.

Here is all the information we currently know about The Studio season 2 on Apple TV+, including the anticipated cast, trailer, release date, narrative rumors, and more.

Potential spoilers follow for The Studio season 1.

The Studio season 2 release date prediction

On May 6, the second season of The Studio was formally renewed. Seth, Ike, and Chase Sui are seen talking about the show’s comeback using their “winning formula”—or, as Seth puts it, “a structure that we 100% know works, so we’re going to do it over and over again”—in an Instagram post from Apple TV.

Additionally, season 2 is currently in pre-production, with a potential December 3 filming date, per a post on the Film & Television Industry Alliance. Filming for season 1 began in March 2024, and a year later, the show went live on streaming services. Therefore, I would anticipate that The Studio season 2 will be released in late 2026.

The Studio season 2 trailer has not yet been released, and I don’t anticipate seeing one till the end of 2026. Just a few weeks prior to the premiere of the show on Apple TV+, the first season trailer was released.

It’s still a long way off, given what I’ve already said regarding a possible publication date. However, I’ll make sure to provide an update here as soon as one is released.

The Studio season 2 predicted cast

Full spoilers follow for The Studio season 1.

Given how The Studio season 1 ended, I’d predict all of the main cast to return, as follows:

  • Seth Rogen as Matt Remick
  • Catherine O’Hara as Patty Leigh
  • Ike Barinholtz as Sal Saperstein
  • Chase Sui Wonders as Quinn Hackett
  • Kathryn Hahn as Maya Mason

The Studio immediately gained recognition for its amazing cast of cameos and guest stars that made appearances during season 1. Among them were Ben Stiller, Zoë Kravitz, Martin Scorsese, Charlize Theron, Bryan Cranston, and numerous others.

Since we would be here all day, I can’t really list them all, but I’m confident that season two will have more genuinely noteworthy names. However, co-creators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg may have run out of people to question, according to an interview with Deadline. “We’ve called in all our favors many, many years ago,” Rogen stated. Everyone who was willing to do this was convinced by our friendship with them.

“And that was by far the hardest part of the show, delivering those cameos,” Goldberg continued. It was draining. During pre-production, we had to go and make a phone conversation with the filmmaker or another celebrity of some kind every single day during lunch. And it was quite exhausting.

The Studio season 2 potential plot synopsis and rumors

Major spoilers follow for Slow Horses seasons 1 through 4.

The second season of The Studio is currently in pre-production, and I have no doubt that the plot will remain tightly secret until it is made accessible for streaming on Apple TV+. Goldberg did, however, inform Deadline that there is one remaining episode from season one: We actually have a script called ‘The Test Screening’ that is finished and I believe will be in season 2. Because it needed a very specific actor, we worked on it for months. We nearly found the actor, but they were too busy, so we had to go on.

Additionally, we learned from the first season finale that Continental Studios was in a bit of a bind when Matt pitched at CinemaCon to stop the sale (and perhaps save their jobs) and Amazon tried to buy them out.

Additionally, there appears to be room for even greater things now that CinemaCon is over. “I think one thing we want to do is the big international film festival,” writer Peter Huyck stated in an interview with The Direct. To do an episode set there would be an absolute dream.

Additionally, since the Kool-Aid movie played a significant role in season 1, we may have the opportunity to witness the culmination of all that effort.

Fortunately, the tales now seem to be coming to them because of the success of season 1: “This show has legs.” It simply continues to write itself. Things continue to occur. Our industry is always changing. We previously met with marketing and studio chiefs to gather their advice. People are just approaching us now and telling us things. Thus, there is an endless supply of stories.

And I have no doubt that season two of The Studio will be jam-packed with these film-focused tales, expertly produced for Apple TV+ in the manner that Rogen and Goldberg are known for.

Will The Studio get more seasons on Apple TV+?

It’s unlikely that we’ll hear about additional seasons of The Studio very soon, given the second season is still celebrating its own renewal. If I had to guess when we will hear, I would say when the show returns to streaming on Apple TV+, given season 2 was renewed before season 1 concluded. However, if and when I hear anything new, I’ll make sure to post an update here.
