Contains spoilers for Wednesday season 2 part 1.
Unlike season 1, when we were able to binge-watch every episode at once, Wednesday season 2 has been divided into two halves, so Netflix customers have only been able to see the first four episodes thus far.
Naturally, following a major confrontation at Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital, the first four episodes of the second season left us on a very high cliffhanger. In summary, the patients—including Tyler, the perilous Hyde from season one—have fled.
Furthermore, a teaser clip suggests that Wednesday is now in a coma after he seemed to throw her out of a window. Since Wednesday has been renewed for a third season, it goes without saying that they weren’t going to eliminate the lead.
I’ve examined the five main theories and questions below, but there are many more to consider.
1. We’ll find out if Tyler was a red herring

When Tyler fled Willow Hill, it initially appeared as though he had pushed Wednesday out of the window. Some admirers, however, are certain that he is a red herring.
On X, @Terrell8799 hypothesized: “Weekend IDC was not made overtly evident by Tyler! When they discover that it was someone else, you’ll see that they didn’t display it for a reason.
Admittedly, it is a sound theory. Tyler has an opportunity to regain his independence now that his boss, Miss Thornhill, is deceased. So, either Tyler is a horrible person who did shove Wednesday, or there is a redemption story for him in the works.
But who was it if not him?
2. We’ll learn the identity of the mysterious woman

Wednesday and Uncle Fester discovered a hidden subterranean section of the hospital at the conclusion of Part 1. Since they discovered the Long-Term Outcast Integration Study (LOIS), it also contains a sinister secret.
A quieter, more enigmatic woman who appeared eager to assist Wednesday was among the presumed dead Outcasts who were experimented on and kept apart from society. However, who is she?
Here, there are two main theories. One is that the person who was sent away was Morticia’s estranged sister, Ophelia Addams. I’m expecting her to make an appearance because the family has brought her up a lot this season.
Tyler’s mother, who was also a Hyde, might be the culprit. It’s probable that they concealed her and made up the fact that she was dead because we know she had previously been a patient there.
3. We’ll learn where the Avian has gone

‘The Avian’ revealed herself as Willow Hill executive assistant Judi Spannegel, the daughter of Willow Hill’s former top psychiatrist and Nevermore’s old science teacher, in the startling mid-season finale. The twisted LOIS experiment was her idea.
Judi vanished at the final scene amidst the mayhem in Willow Hill. It’s unclear if she escaped or if the patients killed her in retaliation for what she had done to them.
Even if it’s only in memories, I have a feeling we’ll see her more this season.
4. We’ll find out if Enid actually does die

Worryingly, Wednesday is the cause of the images of Enid’s death that have been plaguing her. She does her hardest to keep Enid safe throughout season two because she loves her—as much as Wednesday can.
However, since she was unable to identify her stalker at the start of season 2, her visions haven’t always been quite clear. Fans can hope that Wednesday will be able to prevent Enid’s death or that she won’t truly die.
5. We’ll learn the truth about Barry

Larissa Weems from Nevermore passed away in season 1, and Barry Dort is her replacement. Fans, however, are noticing hints that the new principal is up to something because of his odd behavior.
First of all, he is so determined to get as much money as he can that he is more than willing to influence kids. Barry has already blackmailed siren Bianca Barclay into using her music to persuade others to listen to him.
Barry is especially interested in Hester, Morticia’s mother, and the strange phone call we witnessed at the end of episode 1 might indicate that someone else is in charge.
