- The iPhone 17 Pro will reportedly cost $50 more than the iPhone 16 Pro
- However, it’s also said to start with twice as much storage
- Based on this and other leaks, we’ve predicted pricing for every iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max configuration
With the most recent rumor suggesting a $50 price hike for the iPhone 17 Pro, it now appears quite likely that the iPhone 17 series, and specifically the iPhone 17 Pro, will be more expensive than the iPhone 16 series.
The source of this information is leaker Instant Digital, who previously said that the price of the iPhone 17 Pro would increase (via MacRumors). They’re simply restating it here, but it still demonstrates their continued confidence in its veracity. There is some good news, though, as Instant Digital also says that a 128GB variant will not be available; instead, you will receive 256GB for your money.
The iPhone 17 Pro would start at $1,049, $50 more than the current 128GB iPhone 16 Pro. However, that is with 256GB of storage, and because the 256GB iPhone 16 Pro costs $1,099, that would really be considered a price reduction for the iPhone 17 Pro, at least for those that desire 256GB.

Predicting the other prices
Although the same source (and others) have previously stated that we should anticipate a $50 price rise for all models and combinations, this provides us an idea of what the other models and configurations would cost.
In such scenario, costs may resemble the table below, assuming that the iPhone 17 Pro is the sole phone receiving a storage increase.
| Storage | iPhone 17 | iPhone 17 Pro | iPhone 17 Pro Max |
|---|---|---|---|
| 128GB | $849 | N/A | N/A |
| 256GB | $949 | $1,049 | $1,249 |
| 512GB | $1,149 | $1,349 | $1,449 |
| 1TB | N/A | $1,549 | $1,649 |
Because the iPhone 17 Air is a completely new model, there is no pricing history to deal with, thus we haven’t included it. However, based on what we’re hearing about the other iPhone 17 models, it’s likely to cost approximately the same as the iPhone 16 Plus, or maybe $50 more.
All of this can be taken with a grain of salt, but given that Trump’s tariffs are driving up production costs, it appears likely that the iPhone 17 series will be more expensive than the current versions.
We should discover out in September, since rumors indicate Apple may reveal the iPhone 17 series on September 9.
