Google
  • The Google Pixel 10 Pro has been benchmarked with a very low GPU score
  • It’s even beaten here by the Pixel 9 Pro
  • That could mean it’s bad for gaming, but we wouldn’t read too much into one result

With their Tensor chipsets lagging behind competitors in benchmarks, Google’s Pixel phones have never been the most potent devices. However, it’s startling to see that, at least in terms of the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), the Google Pixel 10 series may be even more compromised than the Pixel 9 series.

In a post on X, @lafaiel (via Phone Arena) included a screenshot of the Google Pixel 10 Pro’s Geekbench listing, showing that it only received a GPU score of 3,707. For contrast, the Pixel 9 Pro has a score of 9,023, whereas competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus and iPhone 16 Pro have values of 26,333 and 33,374 respectively. Higher is better in this case.

According to this result, the Pixel 10 Pro is far behind, but it’s particularly concerning since it received a lower score than its predecessor.

Performance upgrades in other areas

GPU performance is just one aspect of power, and the Pixel 10 Pro should perform better overall on Geekbench than the Pixel 9 Pro. According to the same source, the similarly spec’d Google Pixel 10 Pro XL had a single core score of 2,329 and a multi-core result of 6,358; the Pixel 9 Pro XL had single and multi-core scores of 1,948 and 4,530, respectively.

However, the Google Pixel 10 Pro may still have trouble with demanding games due to its low GPU score.

If you don’t care about games, this shouldn’t have much of an impact on you. Google claims that the Pixel 10 series will feel faster in daily use and perform better for AI tasks, and that’s probably true. However, since all Pixel 10 models utilize the same Tensor G5 chipset, they should all likely offer comparable GPU performance, so if you’re a major mobile gamer, you might want to reconsider purchasing the Pixel 10 Pro or any other Pixel 10 model.

However, even though this appears to be a genuine Geekbench screenshot, there is only one result, so it could be an anomaly. It’s also possible that Google could use a software update to enhance the GPU performance of the Pixel 10 Pro.

Therefore, there is still hope that it won’t let you down as much as this score indicates.
