- Samsung could be adding a more vivid camera filter in OneUI 8
- According to IceUniverse, the feature will force a watermark on your image
- There’s no release date yet
According to reports, Samsung’s camera app will soon get a new colorful filter that will make the photos it takes more brilliant and eye-catching. The catch? You will be compelled to watermark your image.
Although photo filters are nothing new, Samsung’s camera software has a function that you may not be using: it can add filters to your photo in advance, which helps you see the finished picture more clearly right away.
Thanks to AI support, the tool was recently modified to allow you to modify the pre-existing filters and create a new filter based on another image.
According to tipster IceUniverse, another upgrade is reportedly scheduled to debut with a OneUI 8 release in the future. In addition to introducing a new, vibrant photo filter profile, the update will add a border to your picture in a so-called “Chinese-style photo watermark.”
With a thick bar at the bottom that displays information like the camera settings, date, and time the photo was shot, along with a notation stating that it was taken on a Samsung Galaxy phone, the border gives the photo a Polaroid-like appearance.
Phones from Chinese companies like Xiaomi and OnePlus frequently have this type of marking.

Some individuals find the additional knowledge useful, but I’m not one of them. The watermark, in my opinion, appears to be a clear commercial piracy of my images.
Therefore, if this update comes out as planned, I, as a user of the Samsung Z Fold 7, will avoid the vivid filter. I say that because we don’t know how the software upgrade will look until it comes, just like with other leaks.
We’ll have to wait and watch what Samsung produces, but I’ll also hope that a watermark won’t destroy the other filters.
