I wrote in November of last year that the Google Pixel 9 Pro was the only Android phone that could make me want to give up my beloved iPhone and that it was the most attractive phone of 2024. In the end, I still chose the iPhone 16 Pro because it was too convenient to pass up, but Google seemed intent on winning me over in 2025 with the Pixel 10 Pro.
Google’s next flagship has already been partially revealed in an official teaser film, and it will make its debut on August 20 during this year’s Made by Google event. The aforementioned video, which purports to show the back and one side of the rumored Pixel 10 Pro in the brand-new “Moonstone” color, has increased my anticipation for the phone’s official release.
Although I’m not generally a color nerd, this silverish-blue hue seems to go rather well with Google’s new (or rather, unaltered) flagship Pixel design. Yes, I have seen the predicted iPhone 17 Pro design, but I would even go so far as to declare that the Google Pixel 10 Pro in Moonstone is already the most attractive phone of 2025.

To be clear, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro have nearly the same appearance. According to leaked renders, the metal frame of the phone will resemble the glass of the rear panel more than it will be polished, like the Pixel 9 Pro. Beyond that, though, it’s reasonable to anticipate a similar handset; this isn’t a terrible thing, in my opinion.

The Pixel 9 Pro, which I believe is the Android phone that most closely resembles the iPhone’s distinctive balance of flair and simplicity, was brilliantly designed by Google. With its perfectly sized pill-shaped module, frosted glass rear panel, and flat aluminum sides, it reimagined the Pixel formula and gave the Pixel line a more mature feel.
With the Pixel 10 Pro, Google is right to remain with this sleeker, more industrial design, and the use of the new color “Moonstone” rather than anything more outrageous shows that Google wants its next flagship phone to be seen as just that—a grown-up flagship.
Design is subjective, of course. Many people probably still like the distinctive Pixel design of the Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 7 Pro, and so on. I can see why.
However, I firmly think that Google is among the few, if not the only, smartphone makers who have been able to create a more aesthetically pleasing phone with every subsequent iteration. And if the X post below is any indication, Google feels the same way:
Will I ultimately decide to convert to the Pixel 10 Pro this year? Most likely not. However, that’s only because giving up the iPhone would be more work than it’s worth after ten years of purchasing Apple products. Last year’s best-looking phone was the Pixel 9 Pro, and in my opinion, the Pixel 10 Pro has already surpassed it in 2025.
